We as humans were created to survive. True we begin to degenerate from the time we are born until the time we die, but our bodies were created with the ability to survive, sustain us and yes even heal our injuries and illnesses. It’s the physical, mental and chemical stresses that our lifestyles put on our bodies that impede this natural function.
The brain is the “computer” of our body. It sends nerve impulses from our brain through the nerves down our spinal cord to control everything in our body. When a vertebra in the spine is misaligned, whether from injury or stresses, it can impinge on the nervous system. When your nervous system is under stress and not functioning properly your body cannot work at an optimal level.
By properly aligning the spine through chiropractic adjustments and treatments, pressure can be relieved on individual nerves, discs and the entire nervous system. This will decrease and hopefully eliminate your pain and discomfort.
Chiropractic treatments allow you to get back on track by bringing your body back to its proper state (homeostasis) in order to perform at its peak.
So What Is A Subluxation?
A subluxation is a term used in the chiropractic field to describe the misalignment of your vertebrae – when the vertebrae have moved from their normal position. A vertebra that is subluxated puts pressure on nerves, blood vessels and everything surrounding it, interrupting the natural pathway of messages sent to and from your brain.
An untreated subluxation causes surrounding nerves, muscles and bones to compensate or adjust to these changes – changes that go against their natural way of being. These changes can even cause the nerves, discs and joints to age quicker and degeneration to happen sooner. Although chiropractic treatment can begin at any stage of your life (Yes chiropractic is for kids too!) the longer a subluxation is present, the more difficult and longer it takes to treat and return your body to the level of health and performance for which it was created.
Autonomic Nervous System
The Autonomic Nervous System is that part of the nervous system responsible for the control and function of internal body organs. Interference to the nervous system creates a situation whereby various parts of the body do not function at their full potential. The chart below illustrates the passage of the nerves from the spine and the organs these nerves affect.

Millions are turning to chiropractic care. The effectiveness of spinal adjustments of the body has been proven to promote health in a more natural way where other methods have failed. The chart below illustrates the areas of the spine that correlate with organs of the body and the associated/accompanying conditions that can occur due to subluxations in each area.
